Bwakaw with love

If full entertainment with perfect filmmaking elements are your things in watching movie, I beg you to not pursue buying ticket for this film. 

Jun Robles Lana's Bwakaw, starring the action legendary Eddie Garcia, is like a dish you will love to eat with your family and circle of friends. Because of its simplicity,being so indie, less musical scoring,more on natural sounds, the message can be digested that easy. 

Like other gay-centered films, punch lines should not be out of the picture. Rene (Eddie) is a 60-year old man who have just discovered his true identity. Late bloomer. Yes, he is gay. Bwakaw, on the other hand, is the only being that listens and follows him. A dog that will make him realize that life is not all about living and dying but it also requires you to be obedient in God's plan.

Kung baga,wag mo Syang pangunahan.

The film teaches how important family relationship is. It also shows how miserable to be alone. Young people should watch this so they would understand this unique behavior of our grandparents. They wanted to be heard and be loved. 

"Tao yan, hindi yan laruan na basta nalang iiwan" Eddie's line to the Home for the Aged in-charge during his regular visit to his old friend (Armida Siguion Reyna) who left the center.

This is a story of acceptance, responsibility as a friend and siblings, and a story of LIFE itself. 

This is not a film review. I don't care it's a low-budget film. Once it moved me, it means something special to me. Although I see a lot of weak character and important scene development but it has surpassed all of those flaws by letting the audience think,laugh and think again. By striking the heart of the viewers before the eyes. 

Simple.Not twisted.But I would consider it as one of the best indie films.
