Fun in the Sands of Dahican

The city of Mati has been drawing thousands of tourists each year especially on summer. People love the sands of Dahican Beach - the pride jewel of Mati.

Youngsters and party goers from different part of Davao region flocked and frolicked at Dahican for the two-day rave party dubbed as SummerFrolic last April 10-11. With a significant number of ravers, SummerFrolic has successfully become a party authority in Mati.

" I love how the beats reverberate in a virgin place like Dahican. It feels like an escapade from the real world in the city" said party goer Jimmy Yanis.

"Dahican gives me a perfect sunrise experience. The hangover effect will just vanish as the rays of the golden sun touches our skin in the morning. Tent + Coffee + Sunrise = Love" shared Rachel Timug who had attended last year and the recently concluded SummerFrolic.

The city government of Mati also backed up the rave party with more fun in the sands of Dahican. The LGU mounted a week-long sports events aiming to promote sportsmanship and camaraderie highlighting the capabilities of its white sand beach to hold such activities like Beach Volleyball (Men & Women) Beach Soccer Skimboarding Surfing Stand-up Paddle and Frisbee.

Mati City is still struggling to introduce its tourism opportunities but with the dynamism of the local government and the willingness of its people to embrace changes, slowly, more tourists will surely try or go back to experience what Mati can offer to the world. #ILoveMati
