P247 million losses due to Cebu Pacific mishap

The Davao City Chamber of Commerce II and Davao City Investment and Promotion Center showed the break down of the losses after the 2 days of no operation at Davao International Airport due to the Cebu Pacific runway mishap last June 2, 2013.






The Conservative Estimate

  • Cancelled Hotel Bookings - P3-million, 
  • Airport concessionaires P500,000,
  • Transport Service Providers (vans, taxis, tourist buses, car rental) - P1.5-M, 
  • Other allied industries - P30-M, Airport terminal revenues - P2-M, Cargo (2 days)

Today, the Davao International Airport resumes the regular operations while Cebu Pacific will still face the class suit filed by the "5J971 Victims Group" against the ineptness of the airline to respond emergency cases such this.
